Flash was born in Coalville, Leicestershire. Following in his father's footsteps, he began his musical education at an early age, and has played drums professionally from the age of 16. He then began an extensive on-the-job education and over the years has played and instructed in all conceivable styles of playing, including numerous percussion instruments. His credits include sessions and tourdates with members of Crazyhead, The Swinging Laurels, The Meteors, The Sinatras, Carter USM, Kevin Hewick, Diesel Park West, Fun Lovin' Criminals, The Beautiful South and many more.
He joined ist in 2001 and, from the first release, has been an integral part of the writing and arranging team.
In addition to ist, he has recently worked on releases from Yellowbelly, Stressbitch (ex-Crazyhead bassist, Porkbeast) and Kevin Hewick (ex-Factory and Cherry Red recording artist), amongst others.
He has, recently, also founded a small drum school in his native Leicestershire.
